Breaking Down the Flying Flea C6: Design, Features, and Technology
The Flying Flea C6 is a testament to Royal Enfield’s commitment to pure motorcycling while incorporating modern EV technology. From the onset, it’s clear that Royal Enfield’s goal was to create an electric motorcycle that embodies the brand’s distinct personality and adheres to the “Royal Enfield riding experience.”
A New Era of Royal Enfield: The Flying Flea Sub-Brand
The Flying Flea C6 introduces a sub-brand focused exclusively on urban motorcycling. This isn’t just about an eco-friendly approach; it’s about redefining the city commute with a Royal Enfield twist.
The C6 stands for “City” and “6th Generation”, signifying a new chapter in Royal Enfield’s storied legacy. With an emphasis on design, agility, and technology, the C6 is built for modern riders who seek Royal Enfield’s classic charm in a future-proof package.
1. Lightweight, Forged Aluminum Frame: The Backbone of Agility
Royal Enfield has placed a heavy emphasis on making the Flying Flea C6 as lightweight and nimble as possible. Crafted from forged aluminum, both the frame and swingarm are engineered to keep the overall weight between 100–110 kg. This lightweight construction is a game-changer, allowing for responsive handling, smooth navigation through city traffic, and overall ease of use.
The result? A motorcycle that balances aesthetic elegance with practical efficiency.
2. Power and Performance: What to Expect
While specifications are limited at this stage, Royal Enfield has provided some insights into the Flying Flea C6’s expected performance. The key takeaways include:
- Range: Designed to reach approximately 160 km on a single charge, the Flying Flea C6 offers a solid range for city commuting. This range places it on par with some of the top electric bikes currently available, ensuring riders won’t be stranded mid-commute.
- Top Speed: The C6 will be capable of speeds up to 115 km/h, which suits a wide range of urban and suburban applications.
This combination of range and speed positions the Flying Flea C6 as a practical choice for riders who need reliable performance without sacrificing style.
3. Exclusive Girdraulic Fork Suspension (G Fork): A World First for EVs
In a move that further differentiates the Flying Flea C6, Royal Enfield has incorporated a Girdraulic Fork (G Fork), a classic suspension system that is seldom seen in the modern motorcycle industry—let alone on an EV. This fork not only provides a smoother ride over varied surfaces but also reinforces the vintage feel, merging old-world charm with cutting-edge technology.
Fun Fact: This makes the Flying Flea C6 the first EV motorcycle in the world to feature the G Fork suspension, setting it apart from its competitors.
4. Advanced Tech Features: TFT Touchscreen and Smart Safety
Royal Enfield hasn’t skimped on tech, ensuring that the Flying Flea C6 meets modern expectations with features like:
- Color TFT Touchscreen: Unlike other Royal Enfield models, the C6 will feature a color TFT touchscreen display for an enhanced riding experience. This interface is user-friendly, offering easy access to ride metrics and vehicle diagnostics.
- Cornering ABS and Traction Control: Both cornering ABS and traction control come standard, reinforcing the C6’s commitment to safety. This combination ensures stability and control, even in challenging conditions.
- Customizable Riding Modes: With over 200,000 modes, riders can tailor their experience to match their mood, road conditions, or style preferences.
5. Cooling Vents: Heritage Meets Functionality
An understated but significant design choice, the cooling vents on the Flying Flea C6 aren’t just for show. These vents aid in battery cooling—a critical function for high-performance EVs—while providing a nod to the brand’s vintage aesthetics. This small but thoughtful detail speaks to Royal Enfield’s goal of merging heritage with functionality.
Visual Appeal: Two Color Options
In line with Royal Enfield’s focus on aesthetic appeal, the Flying Flea C6 is available in two color options:
- Classic Light Theme: Reflects Royal Enfield’s traditional color schemes with a lighter tone that underscores its urban-friendly design.
- Dark Brooding Theme: A modern, moody take that still retains Royal Enfield’s characteristic elegance.

Range is critical. For many riders who wish to use this ev bike as a comuter and live 15+ miles from work, a minimum range of 120 miles is important taking in to consideration lower ambient temperatures in winter, degradation of battery power over time and lack of charging stations nationwide for the forseeable future. No one wishes to worry about getting home on their bike in less than ideal circumstances. Also must keep up with speed limits of 55 mph with full size adult rider. RE has a great reputation with its newer ICE bikes and this new ev bike has great styling in the classic model, looks like a motorcycle not a toy. Don’t be afraid to make a larger version for folks who have range and performance needs matching mine. I would rather pay a bit more and not be disappointed with the performance of the bike after I purchased it. Thank you for your willingness to design bikes the average rider wishes to ride.
